Hi, I'm Marina
Marina Bags began with one ball of chunky yarn and a slow afternoon by the sea. I wanted a bag that felt soft and sculptural - something with the comfort of a favourite sweater and the presence of a piece you'll keep for years.
So I made it myself. Then came another, and another, and requests from friends of friends. Today every Marina bag is still made the same way: by my own hands, in my small studio, one bag at a time.

Each bag takes hours of careful knitting or crocheting. I work in small batches and never rush a stitch - which is why most bags are made to order, and why some colours sell out before I can restock them.
Small variations between bags are part of the craft. The slight difference in tension, the way a colour pools in the yarn - those are the fingerprints of something made by a person, not a machine.

Velvet chunky yarn
A plush, velvety yarn with a beautifully soft hand feel. It knits into dense, cushion-like fabric that holds its shape while staying light.
Cotton t-shirt yarn
Made from upcycled cotton textiles, this sturdy yarn gives bags structure and a matte, woven look - and keeps fabric out of landfills.
Handles are padded by hand, wooden rings are wrapped and secured stitch by stitch, and every base is reinforced so your bag carries everyday life with ease. If a stitch ever gives way, write to me - I repair every Marina bag for free, for life.
